The House

In 2019, work began on the rehabilitation of the building in order to adapt it to a new life and context with the 21st century.

The building has two levels above the ground, on the ground floor is the exhibition hall and in the first a creative activity workshop with access to the terrace.

The rooms, all exterior, double, with bathroom and dressing room, have been distributed on both floors.

The basement is equipped and a small pub was installed in it for the exclusive use of the members of the foundation “Mairie des Arts” opening only at night hours according to season.

A garden with parking surrounds the mansion located a hundred meters from the river in the urban area of the village.

Location

Frejstejn House is a magnificent late 19th century mansion located in the Moravian region of the Czech Republic.

Its location in Podhradi nad Dyji, a small village of 55 inhabitants (2022)
is the place where a medieval castle was built that also gave its name
to the village: Frejstejn, its name in the German language.

In this romantic place where the quiet Dyji (Taya) river runs, there is the mansion that was also town hall for a few years.
